European Researchers’ Night—a celebration of science and research—is a European Union initiative funded through Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions, which aims to bring researchers closer to the general public, demonstrate the diversity and impact of science and inspire young people to pursue a career in research. In 2026, we will celebrate science alongside 40 countries and over 1 million visitors across Europe.
The current project Sci-TRUST “Fostering trust in science” focuses on combating misinformation, promoting careers in research and STEAM fields and strengthening the connections between education and research. As the Republic of Moldova advances in the EU accession process, rebuilding the relationship between science and society becomes essential for democratic participation and integration into the European Research Area.
In the Republic of Moldova, European Researchers’ Night is now at its 13th edition. This year, the event will take place on September 25, 2026, in Chișinău at UTM Park on Studenților Street and in Bălți, in the square of the “Alecu Russo” State University on Pușkin Street.
Researchers will meet with the public and present their work through hands-on experiments, science shows, games, quizzes, contests, exhibitions and digital activities. Summer schools for students, training sessions for researchers and outreach events are coming. Children, young people and families will discover research, science and innovation in a fun way.
