European Researchers' Night - celebrating science and innovation - is a European Union initiative funded under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie actions, which aims to bring researchers closer to the general public, demonstrate the diversity and impact of science, and motivate young people to choose a research career. In 2021, the event was organised in over 400 European cities and attracted over 2.3 million visitors!
In the Republic of Moldova, European Researchers' Night is celebrated for the 9th year. This year we'll be meeting on September 30, in the capital of Chisinau, in the park of the Technical University of Moldova on Studentilor street, and for the first time ever, in Balti, the campus of the Alecu Russo State University, on Puskin street.
The researchers will meet the public and present their activities through practical experiments, scientific shows, games, quizzes, tests, exhibitions and digital activities. Children, young people and families will discover research, science and innovation in a fun way.
The European Researchers' Night 2022-2023 event is organised in the Republic of Moldova project "GreenSCI - Green Science at the service of Healthy Society", which aims to increase public recognition of science, promote young researchers and sustainable innovations and demonstrate the impact of science and innovations on daily life and social welfare. The project is implemented by the consortium, consisting of the Technical University of Moldova (coordinator), Academy of Sciences of Moldova, Alecu Russo Balti State University and AO InfoGroup.
The GreenSCI project is funded by the European Union program for research and innovation Horizon Europe, grant agreement no. 101060678.
